Ah Choo!

Today I sneezed for 253 times. Ah choo!

Took BB to my fave kueh chap at Toa Payoh for dinner.

This time I remembered to take a pic of the yummy food. Heehee.

My nose dripped like no tomorrow as we tucked in.

The neighbourhood cat who posed for me.

Lastly, I leave you with..

Dave's nephew who looked like the super cute baby in Rob-B-Hood.

To Pull The Plug Or Not

BB's Flaky is sick. One of her hind leg has to go. But for a rabbit to lose a hind leg and never be able to hop again, it's probably a fate far worst than death. Like the vet said, sometimes it's about the quality of life. A life like this might not be worth living at all. Even after amputation, Flaky might give up her will to live.

It's a difficult choice BB has to make. If Flaky can speak for herself, what will she choose? Will she choose to have a go at a life with just one hind leg? Or will she give it up? Can we owners really decide for our pets because they do not have a voice of their own? And just how do we know we are making the best choice for them?

The Friendly Office Cat

When you are being measured by the sky-high quota your boss set for you, you tend to believe that "someone" lucky might be able to offer a little help.

Therefore, I introduce to you, The Office Cat!

Meow!

This Wednesday

WebCam Whoring

Jenny was using her webcam to communicate with lord knows who and we fooled around with it.

Tigger's nose turn out blue.

Me with Tigger.

Jenny looking at me from her desk.

Closed-up of my back view.

Toast @ Taka

Been wanting to get my hands on a cupcake from Toast ever since I saw Min's a week back. Therefore, we went to Taka and set out on a cupcake hunt.

Hidden at a corner and facing the small road at the back of Taka, Toast is rather hard to find. We missed the exit to outside of the building twice until we saw the signboard.

Toast's roundish logo at a glass panel.

The yummy cupcakes.

Little Britain

Caught 2 episodes of Little Britain after repeated recommendations from Min.

Little Britain is a highly popular sketch show written by and starring two Englishman, Matt Lucas and David Walliams, as various comical characters going about their daily lives. Every episode is a compilation of a few short sketches, complete with narration, that kinda mock their own country men. They made crude jokes on fat people, Indians, gays and transvestites and one episode even starred Elton John going through a rather ambiguous interview by "the only gay in the village".

The dysfunctional Carol "computer says no" Beer.

Although the English they used is a bit cheem for Singapore context, it is definitely good entertainment.

A Few Things

AD Down

Our Active Directory died on us today. As a result, we can't access our emails or go into our shared drives. This means that today is essentially a work-free day for us. Wooohooo!

A result of boredom.

Did I mention we are an IT company?

Little Green Car

A little green car which try to act like a big green car. I say - TRY HARDER!

Quilon is Dead

Quilon, the Greater Asian rhino, of the Night Safari died of an unknown infection, aged 13 years. On a breeding loan from the Swiss zoo where he was born, Quilon had been with the Night Safari since 1995.

Last but not Least

My fake glass eye. Heehee.

My Best Friends

I've known my best friends for almost 10 years. If I met them when I was 7, today I'ld still be a 17 year old girl, waiting to turn 18 next year so that I can get into clubs legally. I'll probably have a lot of wonderful thoughts on what the world can offer me, what my dream job is gonna be, and of course when my prince charming will appear on his lovely white horse.

But it didn't quite happened that way.

I met my best friends when I was 17. And how time passes by like passing rain. So fast and so transient. 10 years of friendship has brought about millions of up and down. With BB it was hatred at first sight. But this amazing person that I slowly came to know and love has changed my life forever. With MB it was an instant connection. The simlarities that we shared in so many way. Yet it's our differences that keep us together.

It's remarkable how fate has arranged for us to meet - 3 different paths that, at one point, crossed. And I believe these 3 paths will remain aligned for a long time to come.

I love you my mad Giggling GFs!

The Mint Museum of Toys

Been wanting to go to The Mint Museum of Toys for a week now but didn't find the chance to till today. The museum closed at 6.30pm everyday so it's kinda hard to make it on weekdays.

The uber strong Pop-Eye and me.

Owned by a 56 years old private collector who started collecting toys since he was six, the museum is said to house more 50 000 pieces of toys and related items worth more than SGD 5 millions dollars.

The Museum

The 4th to 5th floor of the building houses the toy collections.

Rows of toys.

Dan Dare.

Star Wars.

Pop-Eye.

Astro Boy.

Super Heros.

The Disney Collection.

Golliwogg!

Board games & card games.

Miss White and the Seven Drawfs?

Vintage Donald Ducks which are.. weird.. looking.

Betty Boop - boobsy dolls for the boobsy girl (read: Jess).

I didn't know they made Lucy into a doll.

Pinocchio.

Ferdinand the Bull.

Mechanical wind-up toys.

Huge-ass peacock that seems like a remote-controlled toy but with a knot to wind it up.

Vintage duckie toy that looks like the one that I have.

A little toy car that is operated by foot pedal.

On one of the floors is a mini platform with glass flooring that can allow you to see the walkway below.

The Cafe

The cafe is located at the basement of the museum. If you have intention to eat at the cafe, do visit the museum first before going there as you will be given a "30% off the ala carte menu" voucher. We didn't know that. So.. sigh.

Place mats.

The food.

Will I ever have a duckie museum some day?

Another Pair Down the Aisle

The whirlwind romance of Don and Alicia was brought to a whole new level when they got hitched today in a small solemnisation ceremony for close friends and family.

The part where they sign the papers is a bit overwhelming for me - it's like experiencing the kind of happiness that makes your heart skipped a beat and you feel like you can't breathe.

Finally gotten a pic of the pregger Mdm Yeo who looked as radiant as ever.

BB with her niece and nephew.

Little bubbles.

The bride's hand bouquet.

With our little flower girl.

This Friday

Tea Break at Killiney

Had tea with Mdm Yeo before going for our manicures.

Doing Nails

We did our nails in preparation for Don and Alicia's big day tomorrow.

This nail parlour at Winsland house is recommended by HSBC to their card members and as a result, Mdm signed for 10 sessions at a pretty good deal of $36 for both manicure and pedicure.

The interior of this little shop is quite comfortable with good seats and lighting and their service is not too bad as well. However, there are 2 things that incurred the wrath of Mdm Yeo - their inflexibility for their members and their many add-on services at extra charge. Tsk tsk.

The Orange Lantern

With our manicured fingers and feet, we went to The Orange Lantern for dinner.

The waiting time for the food is killing. But fortunately they turn out good.

A Few Random Things

A few presents.

A Chocolat Factory.

Two Christmas trees.

One too many nuts.

A few Baker's Inn boxes.

A fountain.

A box of Cadbury chocolate fingers.

A Toast peanut butter cupcake.

A lion.

This Wednesday

Again

If you find this picture familar, that's because we went to Botak Jones again. Chai Ann missed it yesterday and had to try it today regardless.

Chai Ann in deep thought, thinking about what to order.

The menu has a few good jokes that really crack us.

As usual, the waiting time is rather long.

My favourite fat mustard again.

The food came!

The fries seem a little bit more soggy than yesterday but the food is generally still good.

I know a lot of my entries are on food but that's about the most interesting thing that happen to me on most days.

Meeting My New Friends

After dinner I went to get my new friends.

The lady from Yahoo who sold them to me said that she got them from those soft toys catcher in the arcade.

They are absolutely lovely.

What Goes Around Comes Around

Lately, I had been getting quite a bit of referral from Minn. Turned out she mentioned that I was hogging the camera and caused her blog to suffer from photo-deficiency. Heehee. I wish very much to return the advertisement favour but mine is only an unknown blog. And I have no money to pay you. So can I offer you my kiss? Huh? What say you?

Botak Jones

Been hearing about a certain Botak Jones in an AMK coffee shop that does excellent western food. Jason suggest to check it out today.

The queue was amazingly long -- almost the entire coffee shop was having Botak Jones' western food. They have at least 10 staffs serving the strong crowd and this number is huge for a coffee shop stall.

The food has a waiting time of at least 45 minutes but Chai Ann had to go off soon. So he had rojak instead. Poor thing!

Happily waiting for our food.

Or maybe not.

Cute fat mustard that I was so tempted to bring home.

Food finally came. Each portion was rather big.

Tucking in.

My food was not here.

Happy at last!

We felt that even though the waiting time is damn long and the coffee shop is bloody crowded, it is definitely worth it.

Lynnie's Quote of the Day
Always find time to do a post-mortem.

Desperate People's Desperate Moves

Once upon a time there was a frog.
Who skipped work and went for a walk.
His friend tried to cover him by helping him do his job.
But instead of gratitude he complained to the top.
Such in-human behaviour only slimy frogs are capable of.

**************************************************************************

In time of desperation, some people will do anything to cover their own ass. If you try to cover their back for their irresponsible actions, you are kinda redundant because it's their ass they care about. Not their back.

Muthu's Curry

Mdm Yeo and I wore uniforms to work today.

We were craving for some curry and decided to go Muthu's Curry for dinner.

Mdm Yeo & Daniel.

The Indian waiter who served us is really helpful with explaining the dishes in the menu.

Daniel demostrating the application of hand to food.

Their kitchen is an open-concept, perhaps to assure the customers of the cleanliness of their food.

It seems like they believe in feng shui because every here and there are traces of feng shui ornaments.

Daniel told a white lie and as a result, he can't go home before 10pm. We went to Marina Square to shop around instead.

Little Robot Christmas Party at Marina Square.

Giggling Around Town

Giggling GFs and I went shopping and giggling around town.

Angels.

Giggling BB.

Christmas snow house at Wisma Atria.

Mango's Christmas tree.

Along the link-way from Wisma Atria to Takashimaya, there is a mini Stabilo exhibition where artists used Stabilo coloured pens in their drawings.

Here are some I really like.

Lynnie's Quote of the Day

I don't do doesn't mean I am not capable of.

Happy Birthday Mr Tan!

Today is Mr Tan's 30+++ birthday. We had a cosy dinner at Fish & Co. by inviting ourselves there. Heehee.

Fishing around.

"Happy Birthday Mr Tan! Hope you don't mind the unplanned dinner guests!"

Goose Loose

We were having supper at Tiong Shian Porridge at Chinatown when this fat goose, with 2 Filipina chicks, slammed himself into our table and knocked over our drinks.

For a normal person, if you slammed into someone else's table, wouldn't you at least turn around to access the damage, even if you have no intention to apologise?

Fat goose simply WALK AWAY! With his 2 chicks in tow. Perhaps in a hurry to go "somewhere". What atrocity! Fat goose should be kept where they belong and not be allowed to roam the streets like it's nobody's business!

This Saturday

Surprise Lunch

Someone prepared a surprise lunch for me today.

My 4-course surprise lunch, soup included!

My heart-shaped nugget.

Though it's nothing fanciful but it's definitely made with a lot of love =))

Christmas Pudding

I bought a Classic Recipe Christmas Pudding from Marks & Spencer and we decided to eat it today.

First you gotta remove everything.

Poke a few holes on the firm.

And put it in the oven for 18 mins.

The results. Looked like a pool of something?

There were way too much raisins inside. In fact all I can taste were the sour raisins. CMI. Do not be fooled by the super nice picture on the super nice packaging.

Casino Royale

[source - www.comingsoon.net]

We caught Casino Royale at GV Vivo City with Mdm Yeo and hubby.

When Daniel Craig was announced as the new Bond, a lot of people, Mdm Yeo included, had been saying that he would be the worst Bond ever in the history of 007. Bernard even said that he should be "Beggar Bond" instead of James Bond.

I beg to differ.

Maybe Daniel Craig is not as sauve and charming as Mr Brosnan and does look a bit too young and green as the legendary Double-0 but I feel that he has his own attractions in terms of his intense stares and meaningful eyes.

After watching the movie today, I maintain my stand.

However, I do think that this time round, the writer has made James Bond a more reckless and cocky agent, with less gadgets but more blood, as compared to the last few Bond movies.

Dinner at Sakae Sushi

The food industry is a very competitive one. Sakae Sushi had came out with a brand new menu, perhaps in response to Sushi Teh's revamp.

There was a fat goose sitting behind me who was having a conversation with her friend that was so animated that she keep moving in her seat, which was also my seat essentially as we were only separated by a partition. As I was eating, she would suddenly give out a goose-ly laugh and convulsed in her seat so hard that I was moving along with her.

Animated conversation between fat goose (in pink) and her friend.

It seemed like they sat there just drinking the free flow green tea without ordering anymore food for like 2 hours. Tsk tsk.

Off to Work

Drumstick Tigger and Drumlet Tigger followed me to work today.

Drumlet the vehicle commander.

Taking over my Thinkpad.

Fainted at the sight of my messy desk.

Enjoying the veiw from my neighbour's expensive bag.

Making new friends.

All packed and ready to go home.

My Fave Kueh Chap

We went to my favourite kueh chap stall at Toa Payah Lor 4 today. I swear I can have it 5 times a week and still love it. It's that good.

The store opens at 6pm but when we reached there at 5.50pm, we were already 3rd in queue.

At 6pm sharp, the selling begins.

Within 2 minutes, when we were just picking out our order and the 1st 2 customers were waiting for their food, a steady queue had formed.

The food was gone faster than I can whip out my camera.

My satisfied look.

By the time we left (about 6.40pm), you probably have to wait 30 minutes to be served.

Catching Up with the Girls

Guess what greeted me this morning.

Heeeheee.

Caught up with the girls over dinner at Din Tai Feng @ Raffles City.

Haven't seen them since Cheryl's wedding in June!

Drumlet Tigger is everywhere these days.

Not much choices from the menu here.

Elaine and Yeeda came with a piece of very good news today - they are getting hitch! Woohoo!

The soon to be husband-and-wife, after 10 years of courtship!

The romantic proposal that was nearly jeopardised by 2 "foreign talents".

After dinner BB wanted deserts so we headed to Coffee Club.

Seeya girls soon!

Monday the Back-to-Work Day

Mr Yeo drove us out for lunch and treated us to Sushi Teh.

A serious man is a handsome man.

I used to enjoy going to Sushi Teh (especially the one in Holland V, after sun-tanning in Sentosa) until Sakae Sushi started to appear in almost every shopping mall. Then for a long while, Sakae became the sushi place to go, with its convenience locations and affordable prices. But after revamping both its premises and menu, Sushi Teh has became the better, albeit more expensive, choice again.

Thank you Mr Yeo! We love you!

For dinner, we went to Terra Cafe at Vivo City.

Nice font they used.

Mysterious Woman.

You can't tell but we are starving!

The main courses come with soup that is 1/4 filled. Tsk tsk.

The Story of the Intelligent Monkey and her Not So Intelligent Monkey Friend

Once upon a time there was an intelligent monkey living in a cave with her not so intelligent monkey friend. Her friend was not dumb, just not so intelligent.

Everyday, the intelligent monkey will use her wits to collect as many bananas as possible. So that both she and her not so intelligent monkey friend will not starve to death.

If one day, the intelligent monkey dies, her not so intelligent monkey friend will still have enough bananas to last her a lifetime.

So who is the more intelligent monkey here?

JB One-Day Trip

We woke up bright and early and drove in to JB.

Drumstick Tigger and Drumlet Tigger tagged along.

No jam at the Singapore custom.

Slight jam at the JB custom.

As a result of boredom, this happened:

After lunch, we went to Holiday Plaza for my pedicure and Jack's haircut.

My almost-gone pedicure from the previous time we came here.

The process to beautiful toes.

Almost done now.

Add the nail art and it's done.

After leaving Holiday Plaza, we went to a nearby coffee shop for dinner.

Yummy iced Milo and Maggi Mee Curry Soup.

After dinner, we had a short walk at Danga Bay before heading home.

It's a relaxing and cosy Sunday.

Our Personalised Stickers

We bought stickers personalised with our names.

Christmas Around Town

Went to the sardine can that is Orchard Road to collect the tiggers I got from Yahoo Auctions. Seems like 3/4 of Singaporeans are here shopping for Christmas. The other 1/4 are probably in Vivo City.

Takashimay is having a toy fair at its basement - Toys Wonderland @ The Square.

Huge blow-up Santa welcomes you with open arms.

Colourful toys that attract even the adults.

Toys galore.

I don't mind these as Christmas presents!

Taka's giant Christmas tree.

Deco along Orchard Road.

Loud Obnoxious People

Loud obnoxious people are so suffocating. If you notice, we are always surrounded by these people. Sometimes it's the detestable cab driver that is as rude as a goose, sometimes it's the horrible shop keeper that is as impatient as a cow (don't ask me why goose and cow).

It's almost as if they go by the mantra:

I am obnoxious, do as I say.
I am obnoxious, I'll never give way.
I am obnoxious, it'll never be my fault.
I am obnoxious, worship me like a god.

I had the luck, bad luck that is, to meet one such obnoxious goose today, when I followed my engineers to a weekend job.

Said obnoxious goose, with his ka-kia in tow, acted like he is the boss and ordered everyone around. The loudness of his disgusting voice is so unbearble it almost burst my ear drums. It seems like the higher the degree of one's obnoxiousness, the louder his voice will be. These 2 traits are almost synonymous to each other and it's definitely the case with said obnoxious goose.

Mind you, he is not even part of the company but only a vendor implementing one single piece of hardware. And he screwed that up. When he can't resolve the issue, he gave out a dry, mocking laugh seemingly directed at the "cause" of the problem when he actually created the problem himself due to his incompetence. Or I should say he is the problem himself.

I suppose when you know nothing, your only bet is to be loud. The louder you are the better so as to cover up your stupidity.

Char Siew Rice

Giggling MB had a plate of nasty char siew rice last night.

Before she ate it, she already knew that it was foul-smelling. But she still went for it.

Death Note

Had dinner today with a Mysterious Woman at Coffee Club Raffle City.

Art work near a loo in Raffles City.

So shy!

After Mysterious Woman went home, we went to GV Vivo City (again) and watched Death Note.

[source - Wikipedia]

[source - Warner Bros Official Death Note Website]

This is Part One of a popular Japanese manga about a high school student who decides to rid the world of evil with the help of a supernatural notebook called Death Note. Death Note can cause anyone whose name is written in it to die.

As this is only Part One, the show ended with the 2 protagonists - one the student in possession of Death Note and the other a genius in solving mysterious crimes - finally meeting each other. That's it. I believe Part Two will be worth waiting for.

For more details, do visit Wikipedia but beware of spoilers!

MediaCorp Radio Subaru WRX Challenge

[source - MediaCorp Radio]

The MediaCorp Radio Subaru WRX Challenge has ended. The winner is a 25 years old Navy Officer with timing at 73 hours and 56 minutes. All I can say is - WOW!

My dear giggling MB, in her moment of boredom one lonely night at home, picked up her phone and called Class 95FM, when the commercial for the Challenge was on. She waited for a moment thinking she would hear the engaged tone. But! She was the fifth caller and she qualified for the Challenge! Subjected to a lucky draw on the day itself actually.

So. She quicky informed her close friends, all excited and ready to win the car. However, on the day before the Challenge, I received an SMS from her that she would not be going. That dumb-ass!

The Prestige

Watched The Prestige yesterday at the new GV Vivo City. I enjoyed it so much that I was totally immersed in the show and did not realise Daniel walked past me to go loo.

[source - Yahoo Movies]

This tale about 2 rivaling magicians and their quest to surpass each other is simply fascinating. You won't know who is tricking who till the very end. And even at the end, who actually beaten who as the best magician?

New GV Vivo City.

Waiting for Brenda and Daniel.

BB's New Hairstyle

5 hours in the hair saloon and the end results:

A brand new BB!

Wooohooo! Absolutely gorgeous!
