Little Miss CupCake In The House

I love cupcakes!

End note:
I bought a DKNY watch recently and Minn loves it so much she asked me to get her the exact same one for Christmas (and for her birthday in January).

I asked her if I can buy a new watch for myself and gave her my current one. She said I won't do that because last year, I told her I will buy a new camera for myself and gave her my old one but I still ended up giving her a brand new one.

I guess old tricks can't be recycled!

My Precious Treasure Chest

When I was young, I had a few toys that I preferred over the others.

There was the skinny pink panther whose tail I dipped into the soft-boiled egg my mum made for me every morning for the whole of Primary 2 just so that I had lesser to finish (I don't eat soft-boiled egg till today!).

There was the teddy bear pillow which was half my size that I lugged around quite frequently around the house. He looked like he would protect me from whatever.

Then, there was my favourite toy of all times - XIAO HEI!

There was also a drive-able, battery-operated car where I could sit inside and drive it and it actually move just like a real car! That and a giant teddy bear were my gifts from my dad when he went to Taiwan back then.

Today, every one of my favourite toys is gone except for Xiao Hei who is still on my bed.

When I saw this a couple of days ago, she reminded me of all the toys I used to love so much as a kid but outgrew as the years went by.

If I can, I would want my pink panther back.

End note:
As of today, I'm still addicted to Neopets!

Let's Take A Ride At The Merry-Go-Round

Jack left for KL again and I am at home playing with my Neopet. Fufufufuu! Just 1 more week to go and I'll be off to an adventure!

Yipee!

Last week, I asked Jack a question:

Why do fashion designers
(think Marc Jacobs, Vera Wang, Diane Von Furstenberg)
achieve celebrity status but illustrators of their fabrics are unknown?

You don't think the designers came up with the drawings themselves, do you?

Sometimes I buy a certain piece of clothing because I like the print. And I think I'm not alone in this. But I don't actually know who came up with those very nice prints because no one gave them credit for it.

Why?

Jack gave me an analogy in terms of wanton noodles - if I eat a bowl of heavenly wanton noodles, will I give the credits to the wanton noodles seller or to the maker of the noodles itself?

So, the reason is really simple.

We will only credit the person who we can see - the designer (not that we can see them personally but you get the drift!) and the wanton noodles seller. Not those behind-the-scene folks who are unseen by all.

It's just like the movies that we watched. The actors and actresses are always the biggest stars, not the writer who came up with the amazing story.

It's kinda sad, if you think about it.

End note:
ClareBear just took Minn out for a show and before she left, I told her to come back earlier to play with me.

Oh well.

For One More Day

What if,
just what if,
you get to spend one more day with a loved one who had long departed from your life?

I finished reading For One More Day by Mitch Albom in just 2 days and it's because I can't help it. It's not the suspense that grabbed me. It's the thought that every page I turn brings me closer to how I can avoid making someone else's mistakes all over again.

This story is about life. And how we should never take things for granted.

This story is about a mother. And a child. It's about how a mother's love is the only love in this world that is unconditional, even beyond mortal life.

A mother's love is the only love that will last forever.

I Am, In Fact, A True Blue Salesgirl

I was taking pictures of the food my mum cooked for Minn's homecoming and we had this conversation:

Mum:
Why are you taking pictures now that Minn is back?

Me:
It's for Jarol to see.

Mum:
But it's only 2 dishes.

Me:
It's not about the quantity, it's about the quality.

Mum:
What about the quality?

Me:
Quality does not depend on the what the price is. It depends on who the chef is.

Wahahahaha!

My weekend is finally back to normal. Oh joy!

For our Dec roadtrip to Msia, Jack brought these back. It's gonna be exciting, going places we haven't been before.

VivoCity is getting Christmassy.

Dinner at Bakerz' Inn.

Jack said he loves this pic because for once it's my head which got cut off instead of his. Ooops!

Tiny feet.

Our Dear Friends

A few days ago, I bump into our (Minn and me) dear friends.

This is Friend Friend, my favourite little black kitty who is perpetually small because of her breed. She is uber friendly and is always eager to play with whoever is willing to give her some attention.

Fat Fat, on the other hand, is a perpetual bully. Always trying to pick a fight with Friend Friend. She gets jealous whenever people play with Friend Friend and Friend Friend always run away from her to avoid the fight.

This cat lady comes by the neighbourhood 3 times a day to feed the stray kitties.

End note:
I look forward to the day where I can have my own kitty again.

Rainbow On My Feet

I just finished watching Titanic on channel 5 and even though I warned myself not to cry, I can't help but shed a little tears at the end where Rose, in a time and dimension that is beyond us, reunite with her one true love. Awww..

Years ago (was it 10?) when I first caught the show with MB, I cried like there is no tomorrow while she just sat there unmoving. So cold and unfeeling! Why did we ever become friends?
[MB, just kidding!]

Yesterday, we surprised Ade with a birthday cake and bear.

Birthday girl with her jie-meis.

I had a rainbow on my feet. Heehee.

Mysterious person driving Jack's Lili, bringing us to an adventure out east.

Cute horsey.

We celebrated Ade's birthday over dinner but without Ade.

MB brought her own chopsticks because of.. I can't type it! It gives me extreme goosebumps!

By the beach.

Finally! Jack is coming back tomorrow!

Weeeeee!

End note:
I smell fish somewhere.

Twinkle Little Stars

I just finished reading Heros on wikipedia and damn! It's mind blowing! Finally it's here in SG and Minn, you don't have to SMS *ahem* the episodes to me anymore. Heehee.

Last night, 3 dumb-ass appeared at my door (in the midst of Heros) with this.
[I'm still perplexed by the candle thingy but okay lah, I forgive you all!]

Twinkle twinkle little stars. Today you see it, tomorrow you won't. A result of extreme boredom before bedtime.

Giant Chupa Chups mysteriously appeared in my office and started attacking people.

Today we had lunch at a new eating place opposite Pines - Pots & Pans.

Food is not bad but we wonder how long they will last at this premise which changed hands like.. Mediacorp dramas (the one showing any one day will finish it's run within a month, geddit?).

A picture of modernisation and industrialisation.

Lastly, and finally, this baby is back in my arms.

End note:
Yesterday I offered to trim and paint my mum's toe nails and she asked me if I was gonna fetch water to soak her feet.

A Different Kind Of Boredom

I'm super bored right now, not because I have nothing to do, but because of the change in my weekend schedule. There are, definitely, things I can amuse myself with. Like sewing more tubes, ironing my work clothes, watching DVDs and taking pictures of random things.

But all these I've put on hold because I want to reminisce the times that I have company during weekends.

2 weeks have proven to be too long for comfort and if it happens again, I will quit my job to follow Jack around.

Okay, I'm kidding. I just need to complain a little.

I went through the folder I named "blog" and I found some silly stuffs which I will share right here, right now.

The bird version of BB, MB and me.

New and unworn clothes.

I really really really do wonder when I can complete this puzzle.

My shoes stash from BKK. Weeeeee!

My colleagues asked if I am opening a nail shop.

I enjoy looking at these 2 drink stores, side-by-side.

Bird shit these days seems really toxic. Just what are the birds eating?

Listen.

The old fashion kind of hair setting.

One from Cass, one from Ariel.

Happy brush.

Happy little planes.

Backing up more than your servers.

Lastly, as MB said, Christmas is coming a little early this year.

All Too Familiar, A Bangkok Journal

ON THE WAY TO AND AT THE AIRPORT.

Bian Bian tagged along.

Do you know there is a Cactus Garden in T1?

And an outdoor Harry's bar.

Bian Bian posed with Ms Cactus.

Cool stuff around T1.

ON THE PLANE.

Sailing the sky.

Colourful seats.

When the food came, Bian Bian has no where to go.

THE BOOT CAMP.

Our very nice, luxurious and sponsored hotel - Amari Boulevard.

View from our room.

In class.

My circus tent vs Jack's hot noodles.

FOOD AND MORE FOOD!

First it was the airline food.

A star at the base of my cup.

Peppermill Restaurant at Amari Boulevard. We had our breakfast and lunch there for 3 days straight. They have limited variety of quality food like fresh salmon sashimi. Heaven!

Oishi Ramen at MBK. Yumm!

Dinner with the Citrix folks.

Dinner at our must-go Thai restaurant opposite Novotel. I never actually find out what it's called.

KFC!

Jack once told BB and me that he can eat 4 bowls of wantan noodles at one go. He wasn't kidding! And this is the wantan noodles in question.

Apparently, this stall by the street is franchisee no. 4.

Jack had been wanting to find this wantan noodles for a long long time. He was hooked ever since the first time he tried it.

Don't think that street food sucks beacause this is one of the best wantan noodles I ever had!

Our last meal in BKK is at the airport - EatTion.

Jack had fried rice which is so-so only.

My bowl of tom yam noodles soup is huge-ass!

AROUND BKK.

A Beer Garden near our hotel.

Taking the BTS.

They seemed to take Halloween seriously because everywhere on the streets were people dressing up for the occassion.

This Toyota showroom uses light bulbs to form pretty pictures advertising their cars. The pschedelic display of light captured my attention for a long long while. It's actually quite cool!

The stretch of road from MBK to Novotel has many eating places like the Hard Rock Cafe BKK..

..The Pizza Company, Swensens..

..and Hong Kong Noodles House.

Super cute posters.

Milk Plus.

The Centre Point of Siam Square.

Cafe by the street.

Cute and red.

A red light district.

Signs.

A shrine factory.

Shrine of the Four-Headed Hindu God, Brahma.

Central World.

One of my fave shopping place - Suan Lum Night Bazaar. Too bad their prices have gone up.

Bazaar by the street near MBK. The shoes stalls have so many people I can't squeeze in to even take a look.

Bian Bian and his new toy.

End note:
Thais are one of the best drivers in the world in terms of both skills and temper. Even in dire situations, they do not sound their horns.

My utmost respect to them.
