Our First Roach

A very unfortunate thing happened to us last night - we encountered our first cockroach at home!

Squeeling like 2 adolescent school girls (I kid you not!) and armed with 2 bottles of insecticide (one for me, one for chubby hubby), we began exterminating our unwelcomed guest.



In conclusion, bygone is better than shieldtox.

Christmas came early for us this year.

The company that does our wallpaper is one hell of a huge fuck-up!



It's quite a long story to start writing so to cut a long story short, they are just very unprofessional people trying very hard to be professional.

And failed terribly.

And now, because of a printing glitch which they can't resolve, we are giving up our wallpaper.

I thought hacking it into 6 pieces is the worst thing that can happen. But seems like that's just the tip of the iceberg.

The Birds Came To Visit

I didn't use my laptop last night and guess what - it's extremely liberating!
No online shopping, no restaurant city, no blog surfing. Generally no cyber life.

It felt great!

Over the weekend, some little birds came to visit.
Perhaps they will be staying a while.

In My Opinion

In my opinion.

I really enjoyed seeing BB's facebook updates, ala twitter-style, when she was away in Shanghai. She kept me updated of her adventures and I could tell she was having a great time.

Now that she is back in SG, she still occassionally post those things that she does which makes her really happy and seeing those updates makes me happy too. It's like she gives me an opportunity to share her joy even though I'm not physically there with her.

Sames goes for the handful of my friends who shares meaningful and happy updates in facebook. I enjoy looking at them too!

But my tolerance level for facebook updates ends right here.



I have a secondary schoolmate whose life seems to revolve around his facebook account.

He posts at least 10 updates a day, on most days even more than that. His posts ranged from what time he woke up, to when he got bored at work, to what he had for lunch, to when he crapped at the loo, to how he looked forward to knocking off, to what transport he would take to get home, to when he took his shower, to what he had for dinner, to the show he was watching on TV, and finally saying "goodnight world".

Said "world" is his facebook world.

I had him on my facebook for probably a little more than 6 months and even though I haven't seen him in 13 years, I feel like I know him better than I know my GGFs!

And the last straw for me came when he started to jio his friends out via facebook.

"Dinner 7pm in town. Interested pls leave a msg."
"Sushi, so yummy! Jap food anyone?"
"It's Friday! Dinner follow by movie follow by coffee. Anyone care to join me?"

This kind of messages will usually be followed by (I really hate this "follow by" word now) "Home sweet home. Decided to come home to rest."

Knn! More like no one is interested to join you for dinner loh!

It's one thing to share happy moments via facebook but it's another to live your life in there. It's not that I am not sympathetic towards people with no friends and no life but seriously, life is what you make of it.

Eventually, I had enough and I deleted him from my facebook.
Followed by not adding him ever again regardless of how many requests he send me.
